Noodle 0.9.7 brings Windows x64 beta binaries into the release alongside macOS and Linux. Single-request CLI runs can show the response details you choose, and the Send button works while a request script or test editor has focus.
Windows x64 joins the release
Install from PowerShell 5.1 or later:
irm https://noodlerest.dev/install.ps1 | iexThe installer verifies the release checksum, installs to
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Noodle\noodle.exe, and adds that directory to your
user PATH. Open a new terminal after installation. Environment overrides let you
pin a version, choose another destination, or skip the PATH change.
Windows support handles native paths and filename rules, Unicode clipboard copying, batch editor launchers, and directory junctions for installed agent skills. Logical request IDs still use forward slashes.
This is a beta: Windows ARM64 is unsupported, executables are unsigned, and browser downloads may trigger Windows trust prompts. Ordinary-account interactive terminal testing remains pending. Manually dispatched CI runs also provide a beta ZIP with checksums and build information for prerelease testing.
See Installation for commands, overrides, and platform details.
Apply Windows updates after closing Noodle
Run noodle update as usual. On Windows, Noodle stages the verified executable
and asks you to restart. A helper applies the replacement after Noodle exits,
verifies the installed version, and refreshes an existing managed agent skill.
JSON output reports restart_required and a diagnostic log_path. If replacement
fails, inspect that log, close Noodle, and retry the update or rerun the PowerShell
installer. The updater retains rollback handling for failed replacements.
Release checksums and the update manifest include the Windows executable. The manifest is generated after release publication, once the binaries are available.
Choose the CLI response details you need
noodle request run keeps its summary by default. Add any combination of these
flags for a closer look:
noodle request run users/list --collection ./api --body --headers --cookies--body prints the redacted text body, --headers adds redacted response headers,
and --cookies shows received-cookie metadata with masked values. Known secrets
and sensitive headers are redacted, and terminal control characters are escaped.
Unknown server payload data remains visible.
Binary bodies stay metadata-only; use --output to save the original bytes.
The flags do not change request success criteria or the single --json envelope.
JSON response results now include received-cookie metadata with masked values
when cookies are present.
See CLI response inspection for the workflow and request run for all options.
Keep the request editor open while sending
Click Send while editing a request’s Pre Script, Post Script, or Tests. Noodle commits the current draft and sends, preserving the active tab and request focus. Ctrl+Return remains available from those editors. This keeps the edit, send, and inspect loop in the same place.
Preserve shared storage and validate destinations
Concurrent first-time requests now coordinate collection ID initialization so they share one stored identity without overwriting collection settings. Cookie jars also coordinate encryption-key initialization across processes and preserve malformed stored keys instead of replacing them.
Windows cookie storage requires vault-backed encryption. Plaintext jars are unavailable until an explicit reset that backs up the original; failed storage replacement preserves the original file. See Cookies and storage troubleshooting before resetting a jar.
Imports reject paths escaping through symlinks or Windows junctions before writing files. Exports reject destinations whose parent path contains a file.
Windows CI now includes the applicable suite, native Credential Manager tests,
standalone scripting and download checks, and independent native-addon rebuilds.
Release validation checks downloaded Windows artifacts before publication.
The maintained noodle-use and noodle-dev skills, installation and CLI guides,
and in-app tips have been synchronized with these changes.
